Times use Singapore time (SGT). Checked means when sgviewer fetched a feed; observed is the latest reported radar frame or camera image. Individual features can be older. Select a marker or layer for its own timestamp and status.

Read the rain radar

Radar shows the pattern of rain across an area. Pan or search for a neighbourhood to see the surrounding rain, then use Weather to compare recent frames. Rain radar defaults to 3D relief in cloud greys. In Layers, open Rain radar settings to choose a flat view or switch to the original radar colours. The relief height illustrates radar intensity; it does not measure cloud altitude.

Separate history from the forecast

Open Weather for the shared history timeline. Recorded times can show rain, wind, station readings and recent lightning from the last 12 hours, where observations are available. Future frames show the rain advection forecast only. That forecast estimates how the rain pattern may move; it is separate from observed radar and the NEA two-hour weather outlook. Missing observations remain unavailable.

Compare radar with rain gauges

Rain gauge markers show measured rainfall at individual NEA stations in millimetres. These point readings cover a different area and time interval from a radar image, so the two views can differ. Select a marker for its value and timestamp. Wind strokes interpolate between station observations; they do not measure the wind at every point on the map.

Check lightning and flood reports

Lightning marks recorded strikes from the recent observation window. Their animation replays those observations rather than detecting a new strike with every flash. Flood markers show the latest available PUB reports. A successful empty report and an unavailable source have different meanings; check the layer status and observation time before interpreting a quiet map.

Sources & observations

sgviewer is an independent visualisation. Feed availability and observation times vary by source.
